How to link a domain to your website

Edited

Once a domain is registered with Vehiso or imported and verified, link it to the website you want it to serve.

Linking it

  1. Go to My Account > Domains and find the domain.

  2. Select Action, then Link website.

  3. Choose the website to link the domain to, and submit.

  4. Go to My Account > Websites and select Verify Domain on that website.

  5. Follow the instructions for the DNS records you need to add.

Our system checks for those records, and you get an email once your website is live at your domain. It is normal for this to take a while: DNS changes take time to reach everyone, and a certificate is issued for the domain once ownership is confirmed.

If it does not go live

  • Check the records at your DNS provider match what the screen asked for, exactly. A trailing dot or a missing subdomain is enough to stop it.

  • If the domain was imported, make sure it is verified first. An unverified domain cannot be linked.

  • If you have changed nameservers recently, wait for that to settle before adding records.

Email on the same domain

Linking the domain to your website does not set up email. Vehiso Mail is set up separately, and adds its own DNS records for delivery. See the guides on setting up Vehiso Mail once your domain is live.
